Maia Beach Bar: My Khe's All-Day-to-Late Beach Bar

Maia Beach Bar is one of My Khe's most popular sundowner spots: coconuts and loungers by day, cocktails and DJs by night, right on the sand with the Marble Mountains on the horizon.

Some Da Nang spots are a coffee stop. Some are a night out. Maia Beach Bar is both, and the trick is that it never makes you choose. Park on a lounger with a coconut at noon, stay for cocktails as the sky goes pink, and by dark the same stretch of sand is a beach bar with a DJ. It's one of the most popular sundowner spots on My Khe — and once you've watched the light drop behind the Marble Mountains from one of its picnic tables, it's obvious why.

What it is

A beachfront bar and cafe right on the sand at 284 Vo Nguyen Giap, on the My An stretch of Da Nang's main beach. White-timber benches and low sofas, palm-thatch parasols, lanterns strung overhead, and tables set directly on the sand a few steps from the water. It runs under the M Hotels & Resorts banner and sits at the foot of the M Hotel tower, which lights up red behind the deck after dark.

Day to night

By day it's a beach club: branded "maia" coconuts, coffee, fresh juice, loungers, and the full sweep of the beach in front of you. As the afternoon turns, it shifts into cocktail mode — margaritas and daiquiris, tall colorful pours, the occasional cocktail tower — with music building toward a proper beach-bar night. The tagline says it plainly: only at Maia.

The view

This is the real draw. Maia faces east across one of the widest, cleanest sections of My Khe, with the Son Tra Peninsula and the Marble Mountains framing the horizon. Sunrise crowds, golden-hour swimmers, and a steady international crowd cycling through all day. Get there before sunset to claim a sofa on the sand.

Why it matters

Maia is a good shorthand for how Da Nang's beachfront actually works: the same patch of sand can be a quiet morning coffee and a buzzing night out, and the resorts, towers, and bars all crowd up to the same waterline. If you're mapping where the city gathers along My Khe, this is one of the pins that stays busy from morning to last call.
